Nicaragua Day 2 (Sunday)

Today was a busy day unpacking, sorting, and getting to know each other. We have a team from all over the country. Everyone is getting along well and having a great time.

We left the hotel this morning and were able to see some of the protesting damage. The streets were very quiet driving through so there were not any issues.

We then went to the school and had a chance to walk through the neighborhood slums. It is very eye-opening. We will all show you pictures when the internet is working better. We sorted all of the medications and other important items for our community projects.

We are learning about what short-term mission trips mean and how to impact the community. We are not here long enough to change everything but we are one important piece of the puzzle.

We are learning about what "poor" and "poverty" means.

After we left the school, we stocked up on snacks and drinks at the grocery store, went to the mission house to relax.

Tonight we will be debriefing about our day.

It was very hot and humid today so drinking water is essential!

Wi-fi is not very good here in case you don't hear from us via phone.

Tomorrow is our first medical clinic.

Talk with all of you tomorrow.

The Hope Without Borders, CCON, and CUW Team!!

  1. Well done! So much good can happen inside a single encounter. I feel happy for all of you and the souls you make connections with.
